[LIST SCHEDULE OF EVENTS BY MONTH, DAY, YEAR, TIME, LOCATION]
Information current as of: Wednesday, July 04, 2007
No matter where you are in soft pastel - beginner, intermediate or advanced - you will learn something new in this class, including new techniques, new ways to handle the medium, and the "how to" of mixing color, value and composition.
Joan will give demonstrations, after which you will have the opportunity to apply and practice what has just been taught. You may work from photos, from which Joan will show you what makes good composition. You may also work outdoors, weather permitting, from the varied landscapes at The Clearing, where Joan will show you how to compose a "winning" picture. And if you would like to do still life, please feel free to bring your own setup. Joan will demonstrate what makes a good picture without clutter.
A critique will be given before lunch each day. In the afternoon, you will have time to work on the corrections. Another critique will be given before dinner. Everyone will work at his or her own pace and style. Joan will not try to change or alter your style or technique, but will offer suggestions to help you find quicker, easier and more refined ways to handle the medium.
